When Christ speaks, Do you listen?

BIBLE VERSE:  “And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.” —Luke 4:20

BIBLE THOUGHT: Jesus had just read the Word of God. Closed the book, handed it to the minister,  “And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.”.   All was quite…it’s as if they were on the edge of their seats…waiting in anticipation what the wonderful Savior of the world would say next.

When you open your Bible to read, are you anxious to see what the Lord has to say? We have the very words of Jesus Christ Himself in our hands. And it should be read as if He were speaking to you and no one else. If  you are the type that can “take it or leave it” there is something wrong. The Word of God is unlike any other book on the Earth.  The Wisdom that it gives is unlike any other.  The Peace that “The Book”, the Word of God  is unlike any other. The direction that you can and will receive is unlike any other

When the people heard the Words of Christ, the Bible says in Luke 4:22 “And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. “ …

DAILY THOUGHT: “my heart standeth in awe of thy word.” —Psalm 119:161    When was the last time you wondered at the Words of Christ?
