BIBLE VERSE: ”And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;” —Colossians 3:23
BIBLE THOUGHT: With a son that has just graduated from bootcamp in Ft. Benning Ga., I have learned about some of the things that one must accomplish to earn the Infantryman’s Badge. Second best is not acceptable. An Infantryman is physically and mentally strong and will carry out his orders to the best of his ability. He will stand and face the enemy and if he dies in the process, he will die in combat mode, never retreating.
O that God’s children would take this very same attitude in serving Christ and fighting the enemy! We are given our orders in Second Timothy 2:3, ”Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.” Second best is not acceptable as a soldier of Jesus Christ. A soldier of Jesus Christ should be physically and mentally strong (Issiah 33:6), and willing to carry out the direction of the Holy Spirit to the best of our abilities. (Colossians 3:23). And we should always stand to face the enemy(which is satan ), never retreating “and having done all, to stand. STAND” —Ephesians 6:13-14.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: ”Be all that you can be”, thru Jesus Christ our Lord!. “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” —Philippians 4:13
