DELIEVERANCE FROM DEATH?

Sunday, December 13th, 2009

BIBLE VERSE:  “Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.” –Proverbs 11:4

BIBLE THOUGHT:  A person’s riches will do them no good when the “day of judgment” arrives, and trust me it will come.  Riches gives a person a false sense of security. While they may want for nothing here on earth,  they will want in eternity. For riches cannot purchase a person’s way out of Hell, nor cannot a person’s riches deliever them from death.   Ah, but “righteousness”, now there’s something that will deliver  even from death itself!  This “righteousness” is only obtainable thru repentance toward God and faith that Jesus Christ died and rose again for our sins. (Acts  20:21) This thing of “righteousness” is absolutely free! But! For a limited time only! Act now! For once we die, that’s it. Then comes judgment. (Hebrews 9:27)

DAILY THOUGHT:  Beach front property in Hawaii, 5 million dollars.  The world’s largest diamond, just over 2 billion.  Deliverance from death…PRICELESS!

Without counsel, Purposes are dissaponted…

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

BIBLE VERSE:  ”Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.” —Proverbs 15:22

BIBLE THOUGHT:  God is telling us, that any thing we wish to accomplish or whatever goals we set out to attain, that if we don’t ask for counsel at the beginning and along the way, we stand a chance of being disappointed with the outcome.  But where do we get counsel from?  Friends, family, or co-workers?  The answer is NO! Then where are these “multitude of counsellors?” Here is the answer. Psalm 119:24  ”Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counselors.” In other words, God’s Word is our counsellors! All 31, 101 verses!. God also tells us in Psalm 73:24  ” I will guide thee with my counsel.” In Isa.9:6 His name is “COUNSELLOR”  We are told that our “faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.” —1 Corinthians 2:5.  If the person you are receiving counsel from, is not guiding you to the Word of God….it is their opinion their giving and is dangerous to receive.

DAILY THOUGHT:  ”Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes..” —Proverbs 3:5-7

GROWING OLD IN GOD…

Friday, December 4th, 2009

BIBLE VERSE.  ”The hoary head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness.” —Proverbs 16:31

BIBLE THOUGHT:  There are similarities between growing old and growing old in God. Aches and pains in places you never knew were there.  The youthful look of our skin is not as resilient  as it was. The wrinkles around our eyes and more things too numerous to mention.  The difference between growing old and growing old in God is the Peace that rests upon your life and is noticeable even through the aches and pains of growing old.  Growing old in God means that you have grown old in the Word of God. Job 12:12 says” With the ancient is wisdom; and in length of days understanding.”–This is true if you have grown old in the Word of God.  Philippians 1:21 says “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”—This is a blessing to those who are aged…if you have grown old in the Word of God.  Our physical bodies are aging but our spiritual bodies have just begun to live. —This is true if you know Christ as your Saviour

DAILY THOUGHT: My prayer is that God will allow my mind to be sharp in the Word of God even to the end of my days. David says it best in Psalm 119:43  ” take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth.” My body may go but let my mind stay sharp in the Word of God!

FEARING CIRCUMSTANCES

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

BIBLE VERSE:  ”Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day” –Psalm 91:5

BIBLE THOUGHT:  The “terror by night”…the unseen. Things that come into our lives unexpectedly, blind siding us. The problems that creep up on us and strikes an instant fear of  ”What am I going to do?!”. The verse says to us “Thou shalt not be afraid.”  Here is the reason. NOTHING takes our God by surprise.  HE is well aware of all that is happening in our lives. HE has a solution to our problems. HE will guide us thru ALL trials. HIS grace is sufficient.  Cast ALL you care upon HIM.

DAILY THOUGHT:  ”For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” —Jeremiah 29:11
