BIBLE VERSE: “That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life” —Deuteronomy 30:20

BIBLE THOUGHT: If our greatest need had been technology, God would’ve sent us a scientist. If our greatest need had been information, God would’ve sent us an educator. If our greatest need had been money, God would’ve sent us an economist. If our greatest need had been pleasure, God would’ve sent us an entertainer. But our greatest need was forgiveness, so God sent us a Savior!

DAILY THOUGHT:  Is God your life?

BIBLE VERSE : Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.” —-Matthew 10:31

BIBLE THOUGHT:  Doctor’s annual salary $750,000.  Presidents annual salary  $425,000. Being a child of God…PRICELESS!  Jesus tells us we are  valuable in His sight.  Thats AMAZING and GRACE is realizing that we are not loved because we are valuable, We are valuable because we are loved!

DAILY THOUGHT:  (put your name in the blank). For God so loved ______  that He sent His only begotten Son…..PRICELESS!

God’s love out weighs circumstances

BIBLE VERSE:  ”Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” —Colossians 3:2

BIBLE THOUGHT:  Arnold Prater, in his book YOU CAN HAVE JOY!  wrote about an Englishman named John Deckard who had an award winning passion for roses. One year, John grew a rose among roses to enter in the annual garden show. But before he could transplant the rose, his son rushed in and exclaimed, “Daddy, look what I have for you!” And in his little hand was the prize rose. Visitor’s at the Garden show were astonished when they saw John’s entry. For in the flower pot was a photo of his son with the rose in his hands, along with an honorary blue ribbon. Sometimes your plans may go awry and sometimes your dreams may get crushed. But in their place, God sends his own son Jesus. And when that happens, nothing else matters but the love of His Son!.

“And there was War in Heaven”

Monday, October 26th, 2009

BIBLE VERSE: “And there was war in heaven, Michael and his angels fought against the dragon,  and the dragon fought and his angels; and prevailed not. Neither was their place found anymore in heaven.” —Revelation 12:7-8

BIBLE THOUGHT: Hard to imagine that millenia ago there was war in heaven!  Michael and his army vs. Lucipher and his army. A battle so great that it would affect you and me to this very day! Listen to the 5 I’s that caused this war in heaven, found in Isaiah 14:13-14 ” For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.”   Sometimes we use the same word,” I will worry because I do not fully trust God, or I will go ahead and do it my way instead of God’s way. I will…I will…I will! Pride was the root of the battle in Heaven and is the root of all sin today. I am so thankful we have a forgiving God

DAILY THOUGHT:  ”Lord I will…if it’s your will.

Forgive and Forget….No Way!

Saturday, October 24th, 2009

BIBLE VERSE:  Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, until seventy times seven

BIBLE THOUGHT:  Jesus had been asked in the previous verse, How many times should I forgive my brother….7 times? when Jesus said to him No 70 times 7, He did not mean 490 times, but, rather as much as it takes. It is so difficult for us to forgive sometimes, especially when we have been wronged. Jesus tells us to forgive one another (Ephesians 4:32) and we say NO Way!  When we do not forgive then we hold a grudge, and if we hold a grudge then we are condemned. (James 5:9) The old addage: “Forgive and Forget” simply is not true. Every time we have been wronged or offended it sticks to us like a feather to a tar bucket. FORGIVING is not FORGETTING but REMEMBERING that we forgave!

DAILY THOUGHT: Has Jesus forgiven you?….Then pass it on!

Trilogy of the Psalms

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009

BIBLE VERSE:  ”Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me.

BIBLE THOUGHT:  Psalm 23 is perched between Psalm 22 which tells about the Crucifiction of Jesus and Psalm 24, which is a prophecy of the coronation of Jesus Christ. It is a beautiful trilogy about the Saviour’s Cross, The Shepherd’s Crook, and the Sovereign’s Crown!. Psalm 23 is that valley between the two chapters. Thank God for every valley, because there has to be a mountain ahead. There is vision in the valleys and hope in the hills!

DAILY THOUGHT:  Read the Trilogy of the Psalms. Chapters  22-24. It may well be the best 15 minutes of your day!

BIBLE VERSE: “For in Him. we live and move and have our being.” —Acts 17:28

BIBLE THOUGHT:  What peace there is in this verse!. When we accept this verse as truth, then we can truly say, “The Lord is my Shepherd.”. It’s because of him that we have eternal Life. It’s because of Him that we can have comfort in the MIDST of the storm. It’s because of Him that we can have hope and direction inour lives.    Esther Rusthol wrote a song back in 1941 entitled: “When we see Christ”. Below is my favorite verse of the three that she wrote.

Sometimes the sky looks dark with not a ray of light, We’re tossed and driven on, no human help in sight.                                      But there is One in heaven who knows our deepest care. Let Jesus solve your problems, just go to him in prayer

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:  For our light affliction which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding, eternal weight in glory! —-2 Corinthians 4:17

Loosing your Joy

Monday, October 19th, 2009

BIBLE VERSE:  ”Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before..”  —-Philippians 3:13

BIBLE THOUGHT:  There are two days that can steal your joy and fulfillment of today. One is yesterday and the other is tomorrow.  Both are days in which we as Christians should refuse to live. So many of us have never learned to seperate ourselves from yesterday. We are still dragging it around with us and it is stealing our joy. Paul could have lived in the realm of discouragment, but he refused. Maybe you, like Paul and countless others, have had a dissapointing day (and he did many times. Nearly beat to death, hungry often, and put in prison all because he doing the Lord’s work). Then, there is the worry of tomorrow. What is going to happen? Will everything work out? How soon we forget, that our Lord is “a very present help in time of trouble.”

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:  Don’t let YESTERDAY or TOMORROW contaminate TODAY!
